"Where The Wild Things Are" has been made into a movie. It is directed by Spike Jonze. It comes out in October and from the looks of this trailer it's going to be awesome.

My 8 (almost 9) year old daughter Cate loves to write. Last night she wrote her first poem, at least the first one that she's been willing to share with us.

I have a fish.
Only he just sits there.
I haven't fed him since last year.
I hope he can still hear.
I wonder if he's died?
His name is Spike.
We're at the doctor's to see what's wrong with him.
It's our turn.
The doctor says he's died.
He flushed him down the toilet.
I said bye to Spike.
